Something to shoot for…
The first two times I read the lines superimposed on the painting, I read the final line as “Gratitude is the first happiness.” I didn’t read it correctly until I enlarged the image. Actually, I think both work — could there be two first happinesses? It does seem like gratitude and quietude often coexist.
Yes, gratitude is no doubt a big part in happiness.
