When I saw this, my first thought was of your earlier painting, “The Storms Are On the Ocean.” It’s still one of my favorites. It’s nice to see the theme revisited. I presume most mariners in the area are putting into port, or changing course. It’s always a little chilling to think of what it was like a couple of centuries ago, when current information on such storms wasn’t so easily available.
Thanks, Linda. This is a motif that I enjoying returning to every so often. I enjoy seeing the various incarnations available in such a simple composition just through subtle variations in line and tone. And, yes, I agree that it would indeed be chilling. I can’t imagine having such a storm bearing down on you without some sort of forewarning.
Beautiful!
Thanks, Jackie!
I’m a sucker for water…and I am not a boater.
Same thing here, Kurt. Oh, and by the way– go, Indians!
Beautiful. Great energy in this (and also in your landscapes really). Beautiful good stuff.
