This is a new painting that is called Observers, which is also the name of my upcoming June show at the Principle Gallery in Alexandria, VA. It’s a triptych that measures 24″ by 48″ and is on a birch panel. Because I’m feeling a bit under the weather, I am not going to write much on this piece today. I’ll reserve that for another time when I’m a little more on my game. But I did want to show this painting today, to get some feedback on it.
Have at it…
Really exceptional!
Thanks, Claire. Good to hear from you. Hope all is going well with you.

Like it! Makes me wonder who or what is observing who or what. Lots going on in the painting.
Thanks, Loni. I wonder that, too.
I really like it, too! The observatory is really neat and balances well with the Red Tree.
Yes, there’s a lot of balance and symmetry in this painting. Glad you liked!
Looking “up” from the observatory and “down” from the Red Tree creates a circular effect, a real sense of movement. If you draw an imaginary arc from the observatory to the tree and tree to observatory, it almost feels as though the painting is revolving around the sun. Really, quite extraordinary.
I didn’t see the tree and the observatory as satellites until you pointed it out. But I did see an imaginary grid of diagonal lines that ran from element to element , connecting them all.
I like it. Enjoy the new elements and balance. The observatory prompts me to ask if you have painted a village at night scene?
