Given your recent musings on maintaining childlike spontaneity, I have a feeling you won’t mind that my first thought when I saw this painting, and its texture, was of the finger-painting I did as a child. The pure pleasure of creating those swirls and curves still is vivid.
Beyond that, I couldn’t help marveling at another connection. Look at this tree I photographed last week in rural Texas. You have the shape of one and the color of the other in your painting.
The similarities between the painting and your photo make for quite a coincidence. Makes me wonder if there’s someone out there with a third similar image.
