In Flanders fields poppies grow
Between the crosses row on row
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.
-Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae (1872-1918)
Canadian Army, WW I

I am late with my comment, but still I have to make it – better late than never!
I love this painting – it has a peaceful sadness that touches me deeply – that purple sky and the moon…. You did not mention if it is going to be exhibited at the Principle Gallery on June 12th, or it is an older painting and resides in some nice home already. I just wonder.
Have a great show on Friday, June 12th.
