You know, I must have not been paying attention in the last few months because I thought everything that needed to be said about Obama’s birth certificate had been said a year ago. Now the media is filled with these birthers, people who cling to their misguided beliefs that Obama is indeed the product of some long range conspiracy to overthrow their country.
It’s insanity.
I almost feel sympathy for these people because it seems that they are reeling out of control. The election of Obama turned everything in their world upside down and they just can’t come to grips with the reality before them, that their country is being led by a black man.
The latest example is the lady who stood up at a Delaware Republican’s town hall meeting and ranted that Obama was not a citizen, that her father was part of the greatest generation that fought in WW II and that she wanted her country back. A good portion of the conservative crowd cheered her on as she waved her birth certificate and a small flag. It was all pretty sad that this remains such an emotional trigger for this group of people. But sadder still was how feebly the speaker at the dais tried to convince them that Obama was indeed a citizen.
Watching it, it became evident that the crisis was not the question of where someone was born. No, the crisis is that there are very few politicians with real guts, willing to step forward and tell these people to get over this deluded idea, to take this energy and put it to better use in working to make our country better. Instead we get the media and gutless politicos who only serve their own self-interest by stroking this sad lot, allowing this to grow into a diversion that takes away focus from real problems.
It’s this same gutlessness that will prolong our country’s problems. The first priority of too many politicians is an allegiance to themselves and their party, not the best interest of the country. And that’s just wrong on so many levels…
Anyway, as much as I dislike talking about this stuff, it must be said: Get over it.

This is a completely fake birth certificate as it’s computer generated, and there were no computers in 1961. It would have been hand typed, only an idiot would believe this one is real.

I thought this was ancient history. This probably is computer generated. Mine is as well and I’m older than Obama. I don’t have my original but that doesn’t invalidate my citizenship or lessen the fact that the birth is offically recorded.
The amazing thing here is that people still cling to this absurd Manchurian Candidate fantasy. It would be the most elaborate conspracy ever conceived, taking over forty five years to complete, provided every possible variable played out in the way the conspirators envisioned. If these people were this damn brilliant they could’ve figured out a way to burn us a lot quicker…
The form does not represent the original document because the original documents have been computerized. If anyone requests a copy of their birth certificate now, it will be in a similar format as this one. I just had to go through this with my own birth certificate to obtain a driver’s license. The new one does not resemble my original in any way. Get over it people. Seriously. We have more important things to occupy our time!

You think it’s because he is black? FYI he is half black i could care less if he was blue, green, red, yellow, black, or white. He can’t produce a birth cirificate in his hands that says he is an American citizen. Until he shows one to the T.V. i won’t belive my white president is American. and since he is half black he can also be called white. He perfers to be “black” so if anything happens his goons can say his opponent is rasist.
This is what you’re worried about, with everything that’s going on in the world right now? If you don’t like the job he’s doing, vote him out. Otherwise, get over it and focus on real issues.

And if you want to continue to believe this certificate is a fake because some guy told you so without any real alternative with genuine reasoning or proof, then how do you explain the newspaper article announcing his birth? You see, like most towns in America, Barack’s Hawaiian hometown has a local newspaper which makes announcements of births-and like your newspaper and mine, these records are saved in archives and on microfilm. I normally try to keep rants, especially those with abusive language, out of this blog and its comments but I understand your frustration and anger, Ben. It is completely perplexing how this issue keeps hanging on and how ridiculous it is as an issue in the first place. There is something at play here that allows people to so easily accept such a farfetched conspiracy theory.
