This painting is, however.
Titled The Dark Blue Above, it was chosen by the newly appointed US Ambassador to Nepal, Scott DeLisi, to adorn the his offices at the US Embassy in Kathmandu. The Principle Gallery in Alexandria was approached by Ambassador DeLisi’s office concerning this piece and, as a result, it will hang in Nepal for the next three years as part of the US State Department’s Art in Embassies Program, which arranges American art for its diplomatic locations worldwide.
I feel honored to have a piece of mine chosen to be a representative piece of American art in another country and I’m particularly pleased that this painting was the choice to go to Nepal. If you had asked me to choose a painting of mine to send there, this would have jumped to mind. I can’t say this with any knowledge but I get the sense this piece will translate very well there. Perhaps it’s the rich, bright blue in that sky or the the feeling of atmosphere.
I don’t know. Just a feeling.
Congratulations!
A little more information on the program can be found at http://aiep.state.gov/.

Your excellency,
Hon.Scott DeLisi !
We, the Nepalese people wecome you as a new US Ambassador to Nepal- US Embassy in Kathmandu.
Respectfully, I am writting that we Nepalese people are suffering from the traitors who are in regime (Nepali Congress, UML who are the agents of RAW) including the notorious activities of Nepalese maoists who are going to establish the one-party rule (Communism) with anarchism. Since 2006 Nepalese people tolerated the worst political practice made by corrupt and culprit leaders. The nation achieved the climaxed height of the lawlessness, theft, robbery, ransom and murders. The corruption is out of control. A corrupt tendency has been institutionalizing as a system.
The starting cause of the crisis was
Nepali Congress (NC), UML and UCPN (Maoist) leaderships have already failed. No one can succeed by breaking the agreement. On 24, April, 2006, the people’s uprising came to a stop after an agreement was reached between the monarchy, NC and UML and Maoist included. The agitators were pleading for monarchy as an alternative force in times of crisis. An agreement was reached to reinstate the House of Representatives, which was dissolved under NC recommendation four years ago, although the monarchy did not posses the right to reinstate it. The monarchy reinstated the parliament and appointed Girija Prasad Koirala to the post of premiership. The oath of office ceremony of Prime Minister was given by the king himself in the royal palace premises. Gradually, the agreement reached with the king was broken and the royal institution attacked, which is a work of huge betrayal. A political agreement 24 April, 2006-a political betrayal
The anarchist party leaders and senior most government officials cannot escape justice. The culprit leaders and security officials must be punished because they are not employed to kill citizens. The party leaders thought the movement for democracy was just to rise in power, earn money, loot the country and get more personal facilities. All the political and administrative mechanism has defunct. Experiences are the proofs to reveal that all the political traitors invested their time and energy just for power and to accumulate big chunk of money, land, home and expensive vehicles. Their amassed properties in the name of democracy are hidden in different banks, lands, big houses and business. Democracy has been abused as a ladder for power by the anti-nationalist political leaders. So, we are suffering from the traitors who are in regime.
The main cause of the crisis is- UNMIN is supporting the Maoists since-2006. Why ? we could not understand.
The UNHCR also could not understand the reality of the Nepalese sentiments.
It is our unfortunate that during 1990 to 2008, parliamentary democracy was inhered in Nepal but the politicians have learnt no lessons. The King’s rule was much better than the rule of the present leaders. Monarchy is still popular in Nepal. One of the founder leader of Nepali Congress Krishna Prasad Bhattarai has said – ‘The country has been facing a series of problems due to the mistake of abolishing the royal institution’. So, the uncertainty in the country will end only after the reinstatement of monarchy and Hindu & Buddha Kingdom. The Nepalese people desire a more energetic and balanced leadership within the people oriented monarchy that can completely practice the politics of unity. Nepalese monarchy is the pillar of unity, nationality and security.
The leaders NC Girija, UML- and PM Madhab nepal, Maoists Prachanda & Baburam Bhattrai are not responsible to solve the country’s crisis. They are traitors. So, I request you to correct the bluner.
As we know, America want to establish peace in Nepal, but UNMIN have been found working against the peace process in Nepal. Nepalese people had expected that the UN’s role would be impartial. But the UN could not remain neutral. The UNMIN listens only to the Maoist rebels and the corrupt leaders of the so-called big party totally disregarded the aspiration of majority of the Nepalese people.
So, it is my suggestion for you- All the parties including Nepali Congress, UML and Maoist should shun the path of treason and come to agreement bearing the king and in precondition that the past mistakes and illegitimacy would not be repeated. When nationality rolls down hill it is hard to contain it. It is easy to destroy but hard to create. When our norms and values end then Nepal’s existence will end. Royal Institution is the official knot that can tie Nepalese of this small nation located between two big nations. The agreement 24 April 2006 has already failed. In the presence of monarchy, political parties and nationalist forces including the army, police and court and various organs of the nation should revive the proclamation by King Gyanendra of 20, April, 2006, according to the 1990 constitution and form all party cabinet. From that a path should be searched with Everyone’s agreement to save the nation.
I request to study misund the main cause of the crisis in Nepal.
Please reply me.
Thank you.
With best regards.
